Paramedical examinations are also known as Parameds. This type of examination provides an insurance company with sufficient information to base their decisions over coverage, and limitations on coverage with forms of life insurance, critical illness insurance, disability insurance and long-term care insurance.†

The examination itself consists in most cases of a personal interview with the individual whereby information is collected on a personís medical history and family history.

The exam can include collecting the following from the individual:

  • Height and weight information
  • Blood pressure and pulse
  • Blood collection
  • Urine collection
  • Oral fluid analysis
  • EKG
  • And other information

The information obtained during the paramedical examination is confidential. This information is used only for insurance purposes.
