Policy Fee

Policy fees are administrative fees associated with most types of insurance policies including life insurance, critical illness, disability and long-term care policies. The policy fees typically range from as little as $20 per year to as much as $100 per year on insurance policies. This policy fee forms part of the monthly insurance premiums, or quarterly, semi-annual or annual premiums paid on individual policies. Policy fees are charged per policy, however in some cases, individuals or families who have multiple insurance policies are provided with policy fee discounts.

Sometimes policy fees are waived if an individual purchases one or more insurance policies at the same time.
